TOPIC: Update on my surgical removal
Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720345Day 13 post surgery to remove filler
As I mentioned above, the black area is not derma bond, but it is necrotic skin that will flake off. Nothing to worry about. Initially I was told two incisions and there are seven scars and that’s where the scalpel came through or whatever he was using to try to break up and remove the filler that he said was like rock or superglue. So those were accidents unfortunately, but they should heal fine.
I went ahead and started the antibiotic because it had smell this morning and I’d rather just not deal with that. I go back next Wednesday for the three week follow up.
He assures me that the shape will be much better once the swelling is gone, and the stitches are absorbed or removed. I forget which he said.
I really appreciate the messages here and the private messages supporting me. It means a lot.
I am so so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Necrosis is very much a very big deal. You are at risk of losing your penis. This is a direct result of the silicone oil that was injected. It is absolutely unconscionable that you were told it is being FDA approved. It most certainly is not and the FDA in fact warns very strongly against the use of silicone oil. We have been seeing more and more of these cases in our office and Dr. Carney has had to admit every single one of them to the hospital to save their penises. Please consult with someone familiar with these terrible cases IMMEDIATELY, and NOT someone who injects silicone of any sort or "CMC"/"carboxymethylcellulose" as they have been calling it recently. I don't want to alarm you unnecessarily, but this is much more of a problem than you have been led to believe and I want to see you not lose your penis. We are more than happy to consult with you or answer any questions or help in any way possible with this. Again, I am so sorry this is happening to you. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720350I’ve cut Contact with Dr. Dellinger and my Urologist managing this now. He did the surgery. This Necrosis is limited to the layer of skin between the silicone apparently and the air. I’m very lucky that none of the silicone or PMMA attached to the penis itself. It is in the process of sluffing off and it is gross. And I go in Thursday to have it debrided. I’m on antibiotics and two Urologist And an ER surgeon has seen it and assure me it’s fine just gross and it’s healing as it should. Which of course is not fast enough or pretty enough for me, but I don’t have a lot of choice in the matter. It is very distressing. I just got in from seeing my therapist about it so This has turned into a horrible ordeal and I’m hoping the state medical board agrees with me.
Very relieved to hear you've cut contact and have begun the healing process both physically and psychologically. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the medical board steps up and stops him from doing this to anyone else and that you're able to be made whole.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720383I’m having a very hard time seeing how it’s going to heal and be OK and he was less optimistic today saying we will just have to wait and see. He said six months. It should be done healing and we’ll see what we have at that time. I go back in another month. Right now it looks like hamburger. I’m really Upset about it. I’ll re-wrap it tomorrow and take pics, but I don’t think I’ll post them because it’s that bad.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720384Again, I am so sorry this is happening to you. You're welcome to contact us and set up something with Dr. Carney since he has so much experience with these kinds of cases and is a renowned urologic trauma and reconstructive surgeon. If there's anything else we can do to help, let me know. Best of luck to you.So the surgeon cut off the necrotic skin. It looks really bad. He said the filler was so thin and attached to the skin so much that he couldn’t get it off without hurting the skin and so he ended up stopping in some areas. He only got 70% of the filler. That’s why I have so many scars.

A warning for everyone here: These "doctors" who are injecting silicone oil are flat out lying about it. Please beware of anyone who says it's "CBC," "carboxymethylcellulose," "a PMMA blend," "an HA blend," "an experimental filler," or anything else of the sort. Also know you can check the FDA approval status of any filler at www.fda.gov/medical-devices/aesthetic-co...roved-dermal-fillers

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720406However, it feels rubbery and it’s not retracting. It’s not hard or anywhere near that length but it’s not getting soft. The only thing I can find is something called hard Flaccid syndrome/HFS. I don’t really know anything about that, but it seems to make the most sense. Any info? I’ll look at the topics and see if there’s anything on there.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720410I just feel like I’m getting the issues after an appointment and it would be helpful to know what possible issues I could be having and that’s what I ask him on Thursday. I think he has total positive intent but maybe just not the best communicator. And I know I am really freaking out about it and I’ve told him that. And that I need as much information as possible to help contain that anxiety.
I totally understand about progress in longer time frames than daily. He only removed the necrotic skin on Thursday and it’s already looking more like skin color versus hamburger. However, the huge chunks missing are so concerning. The shape is awful and I can’t imagine that it’s gonna fill in. It’s sad that I thought it was gonna be really bad and it came out worse than that even I expected. Honestly, I’m still in shock. Lots of thoughts about it, but not a whole lot of feelings attached. Just getting lots of support from my closest friends and y’all here and another Msg board. Everybody is saying the same thing and I really feel like y’all get it. It’s very much appreciated to read the responses in the private messages so please know it’s not going unnoticed.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720436I'm not getting responses from portal messages, messages that the on-call doc sends him or when I leave phone messages. I'm going to have a come-to-jesus discussion with him that i need support, information and a plan for what I can potentially do if it ends up this way but w/o the hamburger effect. It's beyond gross. It's now grotesque. I think I have HFS now. It actually got hard 2x yesterday on it's own just randomly. The 2nd time I was at home and ran to the kitchen to get the ruler. It's 2 inches shorter. And it is shrinking when soft (though it's not soft...it's rubbery).
I'm not hopeful at all at the moment but I think being angry is better than shut down like I was all weekend. He's got to do better though. I'm going to demand weekly check ins vs monthly. I've been in every week since the surgery because of some issue or another and not getting simple questions answered is making things worse. He seems to be a great guy but he's not responsive and I am aware I need hand holding right now. I'm self employed so I lose a minmum of $200=$400 in income every time I go to an appt.
He didn't prepare me at all for any of this. I expected 2 scars and have 7 and several hamburger looking open areas. Packing a bandage is awkward and I have 1 pair of jeans that it fits in w/o looking obscene.
Thanks for listening. Rant over (for now).

I know Rejuvall has posted here (and I believe so sincerely), and on my part this is NO sales pitch (I make no commission on referrals in any way), but Dr. Carney deals with former Loria patients more than just about anyone (alongside less than a handful of Docs) and would be worth the trip if it means giving you a more clear outlook. No knock on Dr. Kansas, I'm sure he's very capable, but if this is as horrific as you say it is, you ought to really consider my recommendation (as a guy who has been following this scene for 20 years, even before the creation of this site).
There is light at the end of the tunnel, but it will require patience, fortitude, and possibly a 2nd opinion (see above). I've seen guys with "hamburger dicks as you call it look much over time.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720446I have an appointment today with his PA and I’m going to outline what my needs are moving forward including us weekly standing appointment until I’m comfortable. And I have a call into the practice manager to discuss why messages are not getting and why I’m not getting phone calls back, etc.. It’s unacceptable. It’s incredibly poor patient care
I am pretty visual and I’m really pretty good at taking the hamburger look of this out of the picture but I can’t wrap my brain around the shape and the loss of 2 inches. I got a random Erection yesterday and it looks smaller so I quickly measured it and 2 inches gone.
It’s pretty devastating right now being in my shoes. I’m finally out of shock from last Thursday and so that’s why I have all this anger. Feels much better than being shut down.
I appreciate the suggestions and I’m sure as we get closer to six months. I’ll be having several consultations.
My faith in physicians is very low right now considering Dellinger and Now Kansas. What I have today is nothing like what Kansas said what happen. It’s grotesque.

This is where the Loria stuff has to stop. It's maddening the guy isn't arrested, and it's maddening any other physician (i.e. Dellinger) would perform these procedures (my hunch, high profit margin on the "special formula filler" that I doubt is actually be FDA-Trialed).
It's easy to get consumed by emotions and thoughts of "what ifs," but your best bet is to seek out activities or exercises that can bring you some solace (meditation, spending time with family, etc.). This problem won't be solved through obsessing over the "what ifs", we'll be here for you as a Community, and I implore you to understand this will be a long BUT solvable issue.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720448It MOST DEFINITELY IS NOT being FDA-trialed. In fact, the FDA has issued several warnings against the use of injected silicone. This is where the Loria stuff has to stop. It's maddening the guy isn't arrested, and it's maddening any other physician (i.e. Dellinger) would perform these procedures (my hunch, high profit margin on the "special formula filler" that I doubt is actually be FDA-Trialed).
As I've mentioned before, these silicone injectors have been flat out lying to their patients and leads about what they're injecting. We've been doing everything we possibly can over the past several months to get this all shut down (it has already ruined countless mens' lives, several of whom we have treated, and I personally have lost more than enough sleep over the situation already) but there is only so much we can do with such little power in this situation.
Again, a warning for everyone here: DO NOT let ANYONE inject you with what they are currently referring to silicone as "CBC," "carboxymethylcellulose," "natural, permanent Girth enhancing filler," and for those in the US, do not let anyone inject you with "PMMA" unless it is Bellafill (the only FDA-approved PMMA) or "HA" unless it is Juvederm or Revanesse (also FDA-approved). I would even go so far as to recommend asking your injector to let you see the packaging before it is opened before they inject you with it.
It's very tempting. Silicone oil is incredibly cheap and it looks amazing just after injection. . . until it doesn't and you end up with a situation like this. There are men who have also experienced organ failure and other life-threatening complications as a result of having this silicone concoction injected into their groin area.
Bottom line, this should not be happening and it is completely unconscionable there are so many out there who have taken an oath to do no harm and are knowingly ruining men's lives just to turn an extra profit.

Re: Update on my surgical removal
1 year 6 months ago #1308720451I still wouldn’t recommend silicone by any chance.
And I thought about whether he should’ve stopped is when he opened it and saw that it was attached to the skin and not to the other area that he expected it to be, that’s where I would’ve probably thought he would stop realizing he can’t touch that or just touch the things not attached to the skin, but that didn’t happen.
I didn’t really intend to post these because they’re pretty bad but this is what I’m dealing with. I appreciate all the support and encouragement. It’s nice to be able to vent to people who know what I’m going through. I have three really good close friends who have no idea about any of this but know what I’m going through. They don’t have any background in enhancement, etc. But they get me and that’s what’s important. I’m very grateful for them.
