Dickwhitman79 wrote: Have you tried high dose vitamin c IVs? I was given these to help with Epstein Barr and it was effective. You need a blood test to make sure the high doses of vitamin c won’t be harmful to you before you do them. Can’t recall why but it would be worth a shot to eradicate the virus .
I haven't tried that. I honestly have never heard of that. I'll discuss all these options with my Dr. I am in a much more positive state of mind having found this group again.

I'll definitely ask my Dr. about that. I do believe the right antibiotic will do the trick. The side effects of that one are a little scary.

Simple.

I would politely ask we desist from insisting someone pursue a Member-posted treatment (especially one that requires Prescriptions in many places) when the current protocol is (seemingly) working. Straying from Dr. C's (or other treating Physician's) directives may exacerbate the issue, and I will not tolerate this Forum being a place that condones alternative treatments until it is glaringly apparent all former (medically-approved) treatments have failed or become ineffective.
@PmmaFan I understand what you are expressing isn't an alternative treatment per-se, but in light of the fact that he's currently undergoing treatment, it's best we not supplant the Doctor's Orders for some musings from the Forum. Perhaps it was not your intent to come off this way, but it is critical that we provide information that will not impede his progress & recovery. We all need to be mindful to let the current measures run their course before we insist on anything to the contrary (or supplemental even).
What worked for some of us may not work for others, probably because not every complication stems from the same problem. When someone is experiencing complications and is on a trajectory that seems to have (positive) effects, it is best we "wait & see," especially when these recommendations and/or prescriptions are coming from trusted sources (like Dr. C).
By the way this isn't a knock on PmmaFan, but rather a PSA in general. I know we all mean well when we give advice, but when the patient in question is currently undergoing resolution, I ask we be mindful in our recommendations is all. Thanks.

I m convinced that @Needsomehelp saw my comment in that full context.

I have not received a response to my last two emails to Dr. C. @Avanti_Derma
I think what I'm going to do is wait a few more days and ask my primary Dr for one more course of prednisone that will hopefully reduce the last bit of swelling.
Any advice is appreciated.

Wanted to post another update. I have not taken anymore medication. I actually got the flu shortly after my last post. It seems my situation has finally went back to normal. Definitely a learning process for me. I appreciate all the advice on this forum.

1 year 4 months ago #1308720894Its not clear why you should suddenly have a bacterial infection there if the area has not been opened recently.
I have had some terrible reactions to antibiotics
Avoid Cipro unless absolutely necessary Ampicillin is more safe.
Can check your T levels. IF they have crashed, raising T will suppress the autoimmunity.
Also try Vitamin D and getting UV light.
Why does anyone think this is a bacterial infection?

1 year 3 months ago #1308721260Asking because this is one thing I’ve been wondering about. If your body’s immune system is fighting off a sickness was and needs antibiotics and other medications to help - I was wondering if your immune system would attack the foreign substance into your body (PMMA).
