TOPIC: At the PMMA start line.
Re: At the PMMA start line.
12 years 4 weeks ago #1283456699Up till this point things have been very good. The unevenness and small nodules from my last touch up have smoothed out so this is a bit of a surprise.
I have emailed Wade to see what I should do. Anyone have a similar situation?
Not sure if there is a correlation but for the past few ( 4 or 5 ) days I have been having pretty crazy pain in my joints, ankles up to my wrists, everywhere. Thought it was cuz I haven't been stretching enough when at the gym but now starting to wonder if there is inflammation happening throughout my body from PMMA.
Thanks

They are palpable when soft and both palpable and visible when Erect. I'm not sure why I am having this reaction. They are not painful or causing any other kind of sensation... besides stress.

Interesting, if it's not STD related, then it seems like some kind of immune reaction to foreign body (just a guess), but I've personally never heard of them popping up all over - how many would you say there are and is there an area on the shaft they are concentrated in or is it all over randomly?
I wouldn't put too much stock in your joint pains, I'd try to figure out the Nodule situation first. Keep us posted.

12 years 4 weeks ago #1283471113Are the lumps literally everywhere? Roughly how many are there?
Thanks and good luck. I think the issue will resolve on it's own and can't imagine your aching joints are related or if they are, whatever has caused them will be causing the issue's with PMMA and not the other way around.

They don't hurt or bother me. So far they have not caused me much stress. I am wondering if it will resolve by itself.
Those I'm not surprised by, I have a similar thing. Tighter, thinner skin near the glans, the product doesn't always settle well in that area and thus the clumping - No matter the intervention, Dr. C & company can only do so much to improve aesthetics, the problem rests with anatomy, not with procedure. At least this is what I gather from my experience. That said, I'm not sure if your situation is just like mine, I only suspect it is.

Re: At the PMMA start line.
12 years 3 weeks ago #1283486101Dr C hasn't seen this happen before so late after procedure without other complications accompanying it. I have no pain, discomfort, itchiness or redness. My penis was a bit swollen but I think that was from vigorous massaging after I noticed them.
After discussing at length with Dc C and Wade I decided to have them go in with the cannula and break up the larger centre row of nodules and place a very light layer of 10% metacrill to smooth it out. He placed a very small layer at the base as well where there was some cosmetic issues. For the other nodules we did Kenalog injections. After the touch up, Wade put a silicone sleeve over my shaft and said to leave it alone. No massaging, no Cialis just lightly palpate the area couple times a day and make sure sleeve doesn't bunch. I remember him saying they used 3CC of 10% in total.
Dr C also mentioned that with Kenalog it's a "double edged sword" as sometimes you can go to little and have no softening of the bumps or sometimes inject too much and create to much tissue damage. Here's hoping for the sweet spot.
I'm happy so far with the centre being smoothed out and hopefully the Kenalog will soften the rest. If not in a month, then I will come back for another touch up.
I'm going to leave it as is for now and see how it develops over the next little while. I can say my diet and lifestyle have been very unhealthy lately and I was feeling a cold come on yesterday. Maybe my issues are only related in the sense that my body is saying " smarten the fuck up"!. And so I shall.
I had a couple of very stressful days there but in the end I'm glad I made the last minute trip to Tijuana because I feel so much better.
I'll finish off by saying that despite the stress that comes up from having things not go my way ( referring to my penis in this case ) I don't regret doing it for a second and so far the complications pale in comparison to the constant feeling of not measuring up.
PS - I tried to take pics for Dr C but I couldn't get them to show in pic. There only palpable when soft, more so when Erect and slightly visible. Sorry I can't provide that.

Re: At the PMMA start line.
12 years 3 weeks ago #1283486882I don't believe Dr C or Wade saying that this was new to them / haven't seen it, when clearly other members have reported problems to them. Read a lot of stories of guys having problems with PMMA in Brazil. But seeing it here, brought it closer to home.
I know it has been said that the body doesn't react to PMMA, but the same thing was said about silicone implants, and a select few have suffered because it was said silicone is non reactive in the body. It seems some people immune systems can recognize a harmless foreign body and decide it doesn't want it in there.
I think it's clear that PMMA isn't the holy grail and people need to exercise more caution. Sad really, as I was planning to have it done with Dr N, but seeing some people can end up spending thousand trying to correct the problems that arise, it too risky for me I guess I am going to focus more on ADS.
Red, I hope the situation resolves it's self.

It wasn't dismissed, but pointed out that having nodules in the penis is different to having nodules in the dermis of the face. In the skin there are more immune cells, so you often get more violent reactions that become red and sore. Also you can't really remove nodules from the face without cutting chunks away and leaving scarring. The penis is different as the PMMA is injected sub-dermally, into the dartos layer. In theory, if the worst comes to the worst and it has to be removed, then a good Urologist should be able to make an incision through the circ scar, peel back the skin and remove the PMMA. That is still a serious surgery and full of risks, but if no complications occur, there should be no real signs of deformation or scarring once the patient has recovered. In the face or pretty much anywhere else on the body, that isn't an option.
But you are definitely right, that most guys need to be a lot more cautious and only consider one of these procedures if they are really struggling in life due to penis size and I don't mean obsessed with being bigger, despite having a wife, GF or regular sex. I mean guys who are avoiding sexual relationships etc and are seriously depressed because of it and making their lives very difficult.
Another point is the amount of PMMA being injected. In my opinion far too much is being injected. If problems occur with guys who have lots, then degloving might not be an option. They might have to remove the shaft skin and create a flap. There was a case when that happened, which was posted here.
There are key difference between silicone and PMMA. PMMA is particulate for one thing. Also the types of granulomas and other reactions we see with silicone are far more fierce.
