There was another patient there during my week who posts here - hopefully he will update because he also had Linnea Safe (edit - see the log by "MustGetBigger" - he updated it today). Dan Salas said the reputation for linnea safe is really good - and more widely known than metacrill. Dr. Casavantes said it is easier to inject through the syringe, and they've anecdotally noticed it was giving bigger results...but this was definitely not a guarantee of anything. These boards may not really be representative. I definitely am an outlier since I haven't gained much from two rounds of 30%. Though, in my (again weird) experience, I noticed more growth far down the line, whereas most people notice some shrinkage. I think when the body fills the implanted area with blood vessels (takes 3-4 mos) then I have noticed a bit more size. In other guys' journals, they tend to post some minor shrinkage around 4-6 mos. My best experience was with 10% metacrill...manufactured in 2013. So... who knows what is going on with me or these products. I wish I could tell you LS gave me 1/2" solid and no lumps. No offense to Dan Salas, but he's not a credible source on the reputation/quality/efficacy of PMMA brands. He's only recently gotten into the "bioplasty game" (quotations which imply that he's served as a referral agent to other doctors in the past) and isn't nearly intimately involved with the industry & products to make any credible claims. He's neither a physician or a registered nurse although he considers himself a patient educator. I don't have anything personal against the guy since he's never shilled or disrespected the forum, but wanted to clarify that he has virtually no authority/legitimacy on this thread's topic. I suspect you'll find bias in most sources regarding PMMA brands, but I'm willing to bet your best bet is Professor Lemperle. I believe he'll respond to email inquiries. As for the topic itself, sample sizes and progress reporting are still too small to indicate a real difference or sheer coincidence. Hopefully this is an incentive for more men to report, good or bad. Then, because I wanted LS, they actually spent a couple of weeks looking into it & trying to get it. So, when he finally got it - he just casually said something like "I'm glad you told me about it because through the process of asking around, it seems like a premium product that will be more in demand" than metacrill. So, that's the context...I didn't mean to say it like he was trying to up-sell it or something. I had Metacrill twice in the past in 10% and 30% concentrations. At my last visit to my Dermatologist in the USA, he counted 12 palpable nodules at ~5 weeks post...ranging from the size of a pea to the size of a grape...from deep under the skin to something at the skin surface level. I had 2-4 small nodules from Metacrill each time at the skin surface that were gone by 6-8 weeks. I had 1 large Nodule at the base from metacrill 10% that was gone at 8 weeks with no intervention. I had 1/4" growth from 15 cc metacrill 30% and no growth from linnea safe 30% (15 cc also). Maybe I got 1/4" from Linnea safe , but it's hard to tell with the nodules. I think the other part of the problem could be the lack of steroid shots... my swelling was much worse and I got nodules right away. I found the Linnea Safe ingredients (and put them in the FAQ) and do not have any sensitives to them. However, the trauma of a third round (which is tough - given that you have to break through all the collagen from the early rounds) can also have caused this.
