I have one bump from one injection point under the gland. I had it with the new technique at 10%. The bump showed up after about 2 weeks.

I did massage the area immediately behind the glans and PMMA oozed out of it for about a day then most of the entry points healed. I then asked if I should continue to squeeze and massage, the answer was no, it will aggravate the area. The area right behind the glans and where the entry point were, was very very sensitive and very painful to massage right after the session, however, it was done with great pain. Had I known this would happen, I would have requested entry in the middle of the shaft or base to lessen these problems. Also, some entry points near the glans would not close up quickly, they stayed open for a few days giving chance to infection (non happened thu)... At this point from the little that I know, I would not have entry points near glans again.

So far, 20% seems to fill a lot better and is giving better volume and gains.

@messageman,
You should see these lumps and nodules earlier e.g. " 7-10 days after the injection and definitely before 6 weeks ". But in regard of the Foreign Body Granulomas formation it is a different story if they are going to be formed they will be formed in the period between 6 months and 5 years and they are usually triggered by a systemic infection.

@smartman. So do I understand that NewPlastic is no longer being produced?
Do you know what were the "problems" where there and what do they mean by a "cleaner" product?

I'm 10 days post op and definintely have some bumps between circ scar and head. I assumed collagen would help either bind or soften the bumps as time went on, and that they were mearly the consequence of getting limited PMMA up there. Anyone seen a reduction in these lumps/bumps over time (they're nothing I would consider injecting)?

@ ndbig1+supa
A representer of the biomedical said that NewPlastic was not available.
Also what I heard there was a legal issue that halted the stop of NewPlastic, but I am sure Dr.C.'s distributor still has a large supply so he has not been effected.
But as I mentioned before Lebon laboratories are making a new better=cleaner generation of PMMA, it doesn't mean that NewPlastic was not good for penile injection they are just upgrading it.
As I said before there is a PMMA congress in Mexico city on Wednesday and on the following day the CEO of Biomedical will meet Prof.L. and then I will report it here if I get any new informations.

@ mustang2020
I agree with what you said " These bumps, as far as I have read and know from this site, have not showed up "as often" when the entry points were at the base of the penis."
The reason for that it could be due to the anatomy of the penis (behind the Glans and the base is different i.e. the skin, the superficial layers and the dartos muscle in these areas), the other advantage of having the entry points only at the base is it will be easy to massage the area behind the Glans (it is very important in the 24-48 hrs) without the fear of PMMA coming out if the entry points were behind the Glans.
@ justabitmore
It is true what Wade recommended massaging and squeezing these entry points (but I would advise to do it as early as possible i.e. in the 1st 24 hrs don't delay that).
I do agree with you " it feels more and more like my Cock as the weeks go by".
But it will feel even much better later on (i.e.>6-12 months).
I think for the gap behind my Glans I will ask first only for the 5% and I will make it sure that the entry points will be far away from this area (i.e. mid-shaft or the base) so that I could massage this area as early as possible esp. in the 1st 24hrs to smoothen the area.

Hi Rondo,
What I am saying if anyone had previously a penile graft and his entry points didn't close and they were contaminated with e.g. water, the bacteria can attack your old graft---> severe infection of the old graft.
So what I am saying the infection can occur early if the entry holes were not closed, so in your case you shouldn't get worried now you are already 4 wks post-injection.
The whole reason why I have said that (infection of the old graft e.g. Alloderm) is in my 1st round in 2008 in Rio I was with my friend who had also alloderm like me in 2007, in his case the entry point at the Circumcision scar (exactly in the center where was the old incision for the alloderm near the glans done by Dr. R.) didn't close early like mine (I think the doctor injured the dorsal vein at this area when he did a small stab wound before inserting the cannula), my friend was careless he went for a swimming in the 4-5th day while he was still mildly oozing ((so his old alloderm was directly in contact with the bacteria (air and water) through the entry holes)) ---> after few days he developed severe infection (swelling, severe penile throbbing pain and fever) ---> I.V. antibiotic and surgery (pus, evacuation the old alloderm graft and the PMMA)---> scar formation---> temporary dorsal peyronie, temporary penile shortening but he has a permanent dorsal skin loss of sensation now. Thank god he is fine now except the loss of sensation. Even after this bad experience I went back again after 8 months to the same doctor and I insisted no entry points near to my glans, and I was fine afterwards (my friend thought I was so crazy to do the procedure again after his bad experience looool).
So that is the main reason why I have mentioned this many times before to everyone who had penile graft ( if you want to be on the safe side as much as you can Dr. C. should give you one shot I.V. antibiotic 30-60 min. before the procedure and an oral antibiotic afterwards and avoid water to the entry points until they are completely closed). Believe me if you ask any doctor (esp. a surgeon) he will advise you the same).

quote from Paso's progress thread: 6 weeks
Six weeks since round 1 and Erect gains are still an Inch at the base and just over half an Inch mid and a quarter Inch directly below glans. I have noticed Flaccid is a little smaller from mid to glans. I can feel allot more bumps especially around the base. still very happy... Guys- I think this 'bump' thing is an inherent caveat of the procedure itself and although it should be observed, shared, and monitored- it seems to me it is, in and of itself, quite harmless and aesthetically insignifigant in most cases. Paso and others have observed the same bump or whisker effect when injected from the base... so why not try both? One session from one direction, another session from the other. Perhaps you'll then have whiskers and a tail.. like a penile scunchi! sweet. Unless I suddenly die from an embolism, I'm gonna roll with this minor inconvenience. Small price to pay- right gentlemen? Regards

Smartman, another factor that I am observing/researching is the old cannula vs new smaller cannula in the respect to lumps? An added factor is the concentration and percentages also in relation to the small vs large cannulae as they all relate to the bumps and size.

I talked to Dr C directly and was told that the new PMMA will be produced exactly like the previous Newplastic, the changes in names are due to some politics and internal managerial differences of opinion...we should get info from all possible sources to assure accurate judgments.

Lumps post 10%, 20% and30% PMMA

14 years 8 months ago #1271170029
All of us read that the 10% NewPlastic will give us a better result ( aesthetic) than the higher conc. (that what Prof. Lemperle and Dr.C. said).
But I read that the 10% did also cause small to moderate size lumps but does it have a lower rate than the 20% ??
So we would expect that the 20% will give us either more numbers of lumps or bigger sizes or both per session than the 10% with the same volume ( I am talking about pmma in the shaft and not only behind the glans).
It is clear you can get small lumps with any conc. at the entry holes the reason is because the beads will be more accumulated at this area so we should massage these areas.
The reason why I wrote this Topic is because as all of you know that I had Metacrill 30% and also Fred from Brazil had Metacrill (as far as I remember he had also 30% but I am not 100% sure ) and I have almost the same result as his no lumps but what I notice there is irregularities or roughness when I try to insert my finger between the new collagen so it is not smooth but the shaft's skin cover it and I didn't experience any lumps, it is true what "justabitmore"said he felt that the result of the 20% is not as smooth as the 10% and I agree with him absolutely in this point.
Check Fred's Gallery esp. the erect :-
picasaweb.google.com/fredconstantino/Com...Metacril145CmDiMetro
So a higher conc. will give you a bigger volume but a rougher (harsher) surface, but in regard of lumps I don't know ????

I have just sent an e-mail to Dr. Samy Passy asking him about:-
1- What is the difference between NewPlastic and Metacrill ?
2- Why does he prefer the 30%?
3- The possibilities of lump formation? And how can he avoid it?
I will inform you when I get his reply.

BTW some of you know that I am thinking to fly to Dr. C. in the future in regard to fill the gap behind the Glans (Dr. Samy refused that time to inject this area) so for that reason I wrote this topic to know why some of you get these small lumps even with the 10% (is it due to the anatomy of the penis esp. near the glans or the Technique or due to other reasons). Should he use only the 5% behind the glans ???
So it will be a great idea to have a feed-back from all of you guys :- how many of you who have these small lumps (numbers, site and size) after the 10% and after the 20% ???

N.B. I still believe that Dr. C. is doing a great job in regard of aesthetic result and it is his priority, and I respect that a lot, but I just want to know why these small issues still occurring ??

@mustang
You are absolutely right entry points near the glans would not close up quickly and they stay open for a few days (that had happened to me in the 1st round but in the 2nd round I refused any entry points near to the glans so he inserted the cannula at the mid-shaft and the base, and the other main reason why I refused that was the risk of infection because I had alloderm graft before that, so I would advise everyone esp. who had a graft before no entry points near to the glans, avoid water coming near to the wounds and take your antibiotic to protect your old remnant graft from infection (a severe infection can happen and it will be a disaster) .
IMO I think to reduce the chance of bump or nodules formation (beside using a lower conc. near the glans, entry points near the base and massaging in the 1st 24 hrs) Dr.C. should stop injecting any PMMA within few mm around the entry points (just before he pulls the cannula outside the wounds) because the beads when they come out and stay in the entry points and cluster at this area they will cause dense new collagen i.e. nodules (it is known that the present of PMMA beads superficially can cause nodules and bumps).

Thanks "ndbig1" excellent observation the size of the cannula is also important. I think also massaging the penis and checking for any irregularities and correct them as early as possible esp. during Erection will help to reduce the formation of these lumps and not to forget the wrapping has also an effect.

At my last session, an injection was made below circ scar. It has left a scar. I'm not sold on the new technique of injecting immediately below glans or in any area of the main shaft. Thus far, the least problematic injection sites have been from base.
Already, I have received several reports from reputable Members (whom have chosen not to post complications) about nodules at injection sites immediately below glans, via new technique and cannulas.

Every one should feel free to post problems and successes on this site. This is exactly the point of our forum. Members and Doctors will benefit from our experience. Doctors will actually make more patients happy and make more money in the process from learning to improve their techniques. Patients as a result will also experience lesser problems. I have been thru enough shit that I do not wish any more problems on any one else.
