If I was you, I would investigate into your health deeper even if it takes a year. Last thing you want is your penis ends up disfigured from Removal and you find out PMMA didn't cause it. From another article posted, Dr Suzana Barreto did MRI's to see the PMMA, so maybe you can try that.

Thanks everyone... I get my results back from my GI doctor, and follow-up with a new doctor early in the year.

I had penile inflammation about 2 months ago that resolved itself.

My constant feeling of fatigue, AFIB attacks and chest pain hopefully is related to a GI issues ... and not something else like Liver... however I'm not jaundice --- so lets hope its not that either.

I also am going to see a Urologist who is familiar with PMMA here in Austin ... this should help me get a better grasp on things.

I think Bigben hits the nail on the head... if you are neurotic about your health, then this procedure is something you might want to reconsider... (e.g. my brain keeps telling me "this health issues started 4 months after my procedure --- how can it not be related!") ... my brain is wrapped around the axel with that thinking --- so I think CHL does have some points about seeing a psychologist ... which I'll also do in Jan...

I'll continue to update the board as I figure out whats going on with me.

IMO most of the plastic surgeons and urologists will refuse to do any penile enhancement procedures ( injection with temporary or permanent products OR phalloplasty with other girth material ) even penile exercises they will tell you don't play with such a dear part of your body ( they are right it is better to have a healthy, functional, thin and short penis than to have a non-functional thick long penis ).
So Dr. D. Cassuto's reason for not having a permanent fillers injected into our penis is because of Foreign Body Granuloma formation and it's management.
The most important Q. is :- Is FBG a serious complication or NOT ?? If the answer is yes ---> it means also the other temporary fillers he listed them are also dangerous and they shouldn't be used in the body and not only in the penis , I would like to know why did he treat the temporary fillers ( e.g. collagen, Puragen-HA and Matridex) (some of them as we know will be absorbed completely within 6-8 months) with the laser which is painful and can cause permanent scarring, that was his words????
He might say that these are temporary fillers are safer than the permanent ones but he still used the same treatment (Laser with its complications) for both types ???
In fft injection you can have also FBG which if local treatment ( antibiotics and steroids) has failed, it has to be removed surgically ( they have mentioned also in this paper :- The fat has to be refined and the technique is very important (as in pmma) )
bjo.bmj.com/content/early/2010/11/01/bjo.2010.180547.abstract
BTW Dr. S. Cohen said the best treatment for FBG is just leave it it will resolve spontaneously.
The chance of having FBG in the worst pmma generation (Arteplast) was high (2.5 %) and since 1994 they stopped producing it. In (Artecoll) the 2nd generation the chance of having FBG is around (1:5000).
I think the worst thing about PMMA is if you decide to remove it totally for any reason (which can be only by surgery) ---> the chance of skin necrosis is high.
So anyone who decide to go for PMMA penile injection ---> he shouldn't go for a big volume.

If darkstaff is indeed have health problems due to migration of PMMA in the blood stream or lymph system this should not be classified as a mental health issue. His response is appropriate and very understandable. Right now he does not have a diagnosis, so we should not jump to conclusions.

Hang in there. I am sure by working with the right medical professionals they can get a better idea of what is going on with your body. Right now, you don't have answers so its challenging, but I am sure with time they will be able to get a better grasp on things. Also do not rely on internet posters to diagnose yourself, this is your doctors job. I think things will change for the better soon. Be patient and you will get through this.

I have received the full article from Dr. Daniel Cassuto :-
He used two types of lasers :-
1- LBO 532 laser :- to clear hyper-vascular reaction of the skin and for evacuation of material ( e.g. pus) from infectious or cystic lesions by creating drainage holes ( 0.5-1mm ).
2- 808 nm diode laser (Intralesional laser Treatment "ILT") through 200 micro-meter optic microfiber introduced percutaneously (1-8 mm depth) into the granuloma lesion with this microfiber it drills multiple small holes (the heat used 65-70C) the tip of this microfiber will be inserted into the Granuloma , the heat will any micro-organisms and will melt and liquify the micro-particles (only in the granuloma lesion).
He treated 21 patients ( 20 women and 1 man) all had facial injection :-
7 patients with Dermalive.5 patients with Artecoll (PMMA).4 patients with Bio-Alcamid.1 patient with Acrylate.1 patient with Sculptra.1 patient with Matridex.1 patient with Puragen- HA.1 patient with Collagen.
He mentioned also :- Until now, treatment of granulomas or infectious or cystic lesions from injected gels has primarily been medical--- antibiotics (before biofilm formation), steroids, fluorouracil, or hyaluronidase locally and systemically. From there, treating physicians have jumped to incision, but surgery with local anesthesia can be imprecise in an inflamed area. There is bleeding during the proce- dure, and some scarring is inevitable.
Therefore, if invasive or intralesional laser-assisted treatment proved to be 100% effective, surgery could be completely avoided.
In conclusion :- His method of treatment is only for localized (e.g Granuloma or infectious or cystic) lesion and not for total Removal of PMMA .
So the treatment of PMMA granuloma will be in this order :-
1- Antibiotic ( before the formation of bio-film).2- Kenalog / 5 FU intra-lesion injection (you might need multiple sessions) if failed3- 808 nm diode laser (you might need more than one session).4- surgery for Removal of the Granuloma ( the last option ).

Hey guys -- wanted to provide an update.

So I was diagnosed with 3 conditions from my GI scope a few weeks back:

1. H.pylori

2. Barrets Esophagus

3. Haitus Hernia

...

The heart issues (AFIB) seems to have been Vagally-induced. Which is good news... it means that all my worries and concerns about Migration are inaccurate.

I'm on 2 antibodics for the H.pylori... for 3 days now, and its already got me feeling much better.

Not all good news however -- I still have a swollen penis around the base. My PMMA seems to have formed mostly around the base of my penis, where most of the swelling has taken place.

The 1st time it started to swell was after I read the CHL report on migration to the lymph node, and I tried finding mine, and I think I was too rough with myself... I then started to get better, and I think I overused him, and now hes swollen again.

I asked Wade for recommendations he said 600mg of Ibuprofen -- but with my stomach issues I'm not taking the full dose...

This might be a stupid question, but could the antibodics be causing some of the unusual swelling, or the achy pain just right of my groin?

At least my mind is not in the dark and crazy place it was over holidays, and I can take a deep breath without chest pain.

Thanks all
Dark

This post right here is probably the scariest on the forum, hopefully in the years to come they come up with a better way to remove it if for some reason it needs to be removed!

Note from what I read from Smartman's post here:

phalloboards.websitetoolbox.com/post/Tot......-5376024?trail=30

He states: "systemic infection in our body can trigger FBG formation ."

I'm dealing with serious GI issues for the last two months .. and heart involvement that I originally blammed on PMMA due to my neuotic brain...

Also, I'm currently taking PREVPac's for it, which contain lansoprazole 30-mg) Capsules, 2x (amoxicillin 500-mg) Capsules, USP, and (clarithromycin 500-mg) Tablets

Which I take twice a day ... so my body is undergoing some drastic medication.

I have 5 more days of the PREVpac ...

Usually antibodics reduce swelling ... could the reverse be happening?

A few lumps in the penis might be desirable for some :-) Some men even go so far as to have beads inserted to create a lumpy penis, apparently the women love it !

Hi Darkstaff, glad to hear you're getting a handle on your health issues.

Regarding the swelling, did it start after you began taking antibiotics or before? If before, did it get worse once you started the medication?

No i haven't tried that yet... should I just do it, or perhaps email Wade and ask him if he wants me to do that?

Note that it's been in some sort of swelling like this since Dec 26th --- swelling focused on right side of penis, plus I can tell my inguinal lymph node is swollen like an olive...

I think CHL's lymph node resolved itself overtime ... so I'm thinking that the body will be able to handle PMMA that moves to lymph nodes by itself... am I accurate in thinking this?

I have a call with Wade on Thursday, my regular doctor appointment on Thursday and then I'm meeting with a new Urologist that Uncle recommended on Friday. (One that does alloderm procedures)

I'm thinking that maybe I see if I can get a MRI of the location --- because what I've read and been told is that MRI could potentially see PMMA.
