Hey Smalljay and Kittenpaste, sorry to hear about the rough time you're both having but remember it's still early in the healing process. Try to eat well, exercise, sleep, lots of fluids and keep the wounds clean. Good move, Smalljay that you found the support of a good dermatologist. Smalljay, I think pics would help drive home the point to others to not even consider this procedure. Is there a reason you haven't posted any pictures at all? I'm angry that Dr. Cho has done this because I have been to him three times and I hope he has my best interest at and not just money. I need another procedure and I was thinking of seeing him again but I might go to DR. C. I just don't know who to trust most now.

Trust no one Mister Mulder [X-Files tribute]. Casavantes was always professional with his early clients, me included, but I think as a Physician becomes more popular, he has less and less time for personable communication with his clients. I've spoken to him via e-mail twice, back in the early days and haven't bugged him since. But if you're expecting 24/7 post op care, i don't think you're going to find that, hell for all those surgical docs that Dan Salas worked for you didn't find that tlc treatment either. I think our expectations are too high here, these docs are in it for the money, and we're just another file number to them. Being personable and not having enough time for each client doesn't mean docs like Casavantes don't care, it's simply they don't have enough time for every client. I think any further touch ups need serious consideration that you are mostly on your own after the treatment is finished. A strong suggestion that may be helpful to Casavantes is to recruit stateside after care, have a few experienced wound care nurses or hire a Physician assistant to provide after hours consultation, PA's have the most well rounded education since they are physician extenders and can provide clinical education & care to a post treatment patient. Since these services aren't available yet, tread cautiously and realize you inherit a certain amount of risk with almost any elective procedure.

I'm sorry that you've gone through a similar process, Smalljay. I'll definitely ask about Santyl, though my situation is slowly starting to heal at the moment. I hope it can still be beneficial at this point.

Wow - he shouldn't have prescribed this upon examination... I suggested it (with caveats) from your description because it gets rid of necrotic tissue so your normal tissue can grow in. That's basically the description from their own website, but I knew about this from another context. The problem is that collagenase (santyl) can be dangerous because doesn't "know" healthy tissue from dead tissue...and it doesn't know when to stop. (It sort of has the Kenalog double edged sword problem) Also, the material put in your glans may have stimulated collagen / fibroblasts that santyl might be stopping these things.

Biafine is entirely benign with no side effects...and it does speed healing and collagen building, as a number of independent studies have shown. I'm glad that is working for you.

Kittenpaste - don't take santyl if you're already past the necrotic stage, especially. Maybe use something to smooth out the surface scars.

Great news! I'm glad things seem to be going better for you. I've been in a pretty dark place, myself. I still have a "bite" taken out of my glans, so my former nudist and exhibitionist self is long gone. The hole is deep and the area is pink. The other side of the glans is bumpy, now. I'll look into biafine. I have to see my doctor soon, anyway.

You might want to see a Urologist or plastic surgeon about a scar Revision of that "bite" mark. They have to do reconstruction of carcinomas (rarely on the penis - but it happens) - so maybe they will have an idea. I'm not sure if they can do a secondary closure or excise the scar - or if that would even help...but you can ask. The glans is just a weird area due to that spongy tissue, so I'd have a little more faith in a Urologist than plastic surgeon or derm.

I know how you're feeling... my penis went though some crazy shit over the past 5 years. It is gonna take time to feel better about all this. I don't yet...even though I am healing from excisions now. I still haven't felt better emotionally. I hope I will after I get the stitches out. I looked at some of my operative pics from 2 weeks ago vs. my scar today and the progress is major - but I still have another month to go, roughly.At the peak of peyronies disease (without much confidence it would improve surgically and zero knowledge of PMMA back then) my Girth was around 3.7" - and I was told by a few docs it wouldn't ever improve. It got a little better spontaneously (to 4"), and surgery helped it marginally too (more at the base). Dark days indeed... but "luckily" (?) I was so busy with grad school I forgot I even had a penis.

My doctor, military doctor, said biafine isn't available here and they won't order it. I'm doubting I can get him to write a prescription, with the way he was acting.

If you are stationed in SD, or local to US/Mx border you could easily grab some without a prescription in Mexico. I would pick some up for you, but I don't know when I will be down there again, I've cut back on my Baja outings.

That sucks. Does he know it's over-the-counter in France? This is where they manufacture it. It's just in any drug store in the aisle with lotions. It's odd that it is Rx here since it doesn't have negative side effects - AND insurance doesn't cover it because it's not seen as "medically necessary" or something. Well, at least my insurance wouldn't cover it. Do they have bionect? It's very similar. You can try to get manuka honey...maybe? That's from New Zealand.

If you go on amazon, the product you'd want is "medi-honey" I think - because this one is sterile. Though, I still am not entirely sure if you can put regular manuka honey on wounds directly.

I decided to give a little update. It seems to be as healed as it's ever going to get. I'm happy with the overall size gain and firmness change. It's very noticeable, when Flaccid, especially when I'm fatigued. It used to be that the head would shrink so much, if I wasn't feeling tip-top. Now, that doesn't happen. I also show that I have a corona, in underwear... this was never the case before. The change in firmness allowed this. Attached are images of what it looks like now, from up close and afar. It's VERY noticeable, where the chunk is missing. Without some sort of stem cell sci-fi, I won't be looking normal again. I'm getting over the depression now, finally getting back into taking care of myself. Started to get that midsection spread, during my time dealing with the negative effects.
