The Korean's published a study (using a lesser HA - I believe) with 90% retention at 18mths. There was a thread started recently with a member who had glans enhancement 2 years ago with persistent gains.
We started 2 years ago with a cheaper HA (to do the trials) with benefits lasting over a year. We switched to Voluma which generally lasts 18 - 30 mths in the face. HA seems to last longer in the penis - less natural hyaluronidase.

Hi Dr Oates, I'm interested in HA, but I have seen both some great results and some bad ones. The technique seems all over the place, as each Dr seems to do things differently. Can you please tell me a little about yours? For example, do you inject on the top (dorsal side) as well as along the sides? Do you make strips all along the top? I have seen it injected in blobs, jjust on the sides, which can feel squishy if all the volume is added that way. If you make stripes along the top, do you use multiple cannula holes?

I am interested in the procedure, but just want to make sure it will look natural and am not sure why some look good and some look lumpy.

Usually we get about 2cm in circumference.

Hopefully we will have a video up soon. I make 2 - 4 access points near the Circumcision scar (if they have one. The cannula runs smoothly under the skin. I use probably hundreds of passes injecting tiny amounts continuously and circumferentially.

The procedure started with Urologistist who are not cosmetic injectors and I think that is why they were injecting in a different way. So there should not be strips, blobs, a turtle shell etc.

Initially I was a little reluctant to inject directly over the dorsal (upper) surface because the dorsal penile artery (nerve and vein) run midline on the dorsum. But once confident that the cannula was not going to pierce deeper through the fascia I am totally happy to do that now.

Doc, it will cost me about 5k (USD) and six days round trip to Australia from my region. Please, can you give any indication of costs (per volume, your charges, hospital bills etc.)? Do you have any idea of costs, also, for abdominal and facial lipos? Thanks in advance ...

If you were coming all that way you would probably look at 15ml which is $8100 Aust (about $5850 US). It is a walk in/walk out procedure, there are no hospital fees etc. But we like to consult people at least a week out.
I do liposuction in Perth (not Sydney) then it depends on the amount, and it is now a surgical procedure and you should be looking to stay for 2 weeks post lipo.
I really need to set up training courses around the world to train doctors in the technique - that is the eventual plan.

Jogift your situation is better than mine for sure from my region it will cost me 10k and i still didnt decide which one 7ml or 10 and all of this trip for only for temporary results it sucks but its better than take the risk with PMMA at least for my side .. Oh and dear dr qates if i already mentioned that for how long the results will last? I also understand that even after the HA is reabsorbed the penis will be bigger than what he was that's true? Like i will gain about 0.5 Inch 0.25 will remain?

I understand from earlier in the thread that the HA could last about two years, that's fairly "permanent". Without the risks of PMMA and with the confidence of good results I'd prefer to muster whatever it costs to have it done.

Yes 2 yrs+ is the expected time frame. Voluma lasts over 2 yrs in my face.

0.5" is expected with 10 ml of Volma - often more. Yes it does induce some increase in collagen and vascular tissue. We have certainly seen (and had reported) that there is some permanent increase in size after 3 or more injections in the face (lips especially). I think the permanent increase is small - but it all helps.

I think we dont see alot of post about HA only because of the price that it cost people dont choose that method , and also because its not permanent . unfortunately alot of people prefer to take the risks with PMMA and the permanent results... i really dont get it how there is no buzz about it? right these days its for sure the best , safest , with the best easthetics results (not talking about the glans ) but despite all the good of it , it has significant disadvantage at least from my little reaserach its only the longevity and the price ... So shortly if you really care from easthetics and dont mind to spend every 2 years nice amount of money of course for fantastic results go with the HA if you are a person who dosent afraid to take risks and want a permanent results go with PMMA.. for anybody who considered HA you should do it with dr jayson qates in perth australia ( of course , this is just a recommendation i dont force anybody to choose a specific doctor ) and for those who prefer PMMA go with dr c i guess although i dont really like him, it seems he has a really good reputation on this board...

I'm sure someone is working on combinations with HA to provide more permanency, like a mixture with something else.  It seems reasonable to wait until that time...  Voluma has good promise, and two years is very good...just not permanent and requires five procedures over a decade.  Considering I'll live another 3-4 decades, that's 15-20 procedures... at $5k... or more?

voluma=is $400 cost for the DR. per syringe in the US.  there r places u can get it cheaper, u can do a buyers club but u have to have a medical license.
