Yes, there are essentially different types of scars. Their location and severity also have an impact. It looks like the "scarring" being referred to in the post you linked is Peyronie's fibrosis, not keloid scars like [ @netagurion](https://phalloboards.info/forum/user/6773804-netagurion.html) said he has on his body.

Bellafill/PMMA is used to treat atrophic acne scars on the cheeks by basically filling them in with collagen.
