TOPIC: Finally got the Alloderm Graft + PMMA + Lig cut with Dr. Liu
Re: Finally got the Alloderm Graft + PMMA + Lig cut with Dr. Liu
1 year 9 months ago #1308719022I was wondering if anyone in the community has done something like this before? I believe I did read of a member having to sheets of alloderm and he got an infection?
@Skeptical_One would you have any insight here on this?

All medical procedures, elective or otherwise, are innately risky, even if very low. in other words, even a tooth extraction at your Dentist's office poses risk of infection.
The reality is that severe infection is incredibly uncommon, especially with the steps taken in modern medicine. These Doctors have every reason to ensure the welfare of their patient, be it both ethics and business.
We just saw a post about an infection after a 3rd round of PMMA shots. While it is hard to say how or why the infection started, what can be certain is how exceedingly rare it is to read about it. Alloderm on the other hand doesn't have the sample size to compare like PMMA, so when you hear about an infection from an Alloderm case, it is no different than the Dentist's office or a PMMA injection.
And yes, if you do some searching and scanning across pages, people absolutely have had dermal grafts implanted. As a matter of fact, the most recent reports from Dr. Liu as well as those from Proud Urology show that a conservative approach layering sheets is the best way to ensure vascularization and the survival of the implant. The infection risk, albeit low, is present in all procedures at all times. Don't let this alarm you, not all infections are severe, and many can be treated to pre-op conditions.
As a matter of fact, I'm convinced that if you see a quality practitioner (and Dr. Liu's positive reputation is repeated time and time again here) and follow their instructions, your chances of complications are minimal. I don't want to say they are non-existent, anything could happen, and this is an elective endeavor -- but if you can understand and accept this, you'll be a more informed consumer & decision maker.

1 year 9 months ago #1308719081Very informative, thank you!
Any concerns on the fact that I have had previous PMMA injections?
"So I've have 3 rounds of PMMA now following a lig cut and Alloderm sheet
Original EG was 5.5"
- Alloderm graft (1 yr ago, if not slightly longer)
- 14ccs PMMA
(3 month gap)
- 20ccs PMMA
(3 month gap)
- 20 ccsPMMA
(Has almost been 3 months)
TOTAL: 54ccs PMMA
I'm now at ~6.8" EG
I'd like to break into the 7" range and call it.. so about another .5", but I'm hesitant to continue having PMMA injected in case it begins to get lumpy
I'm 6.8" EL so right now its still distributed well enough."
That's my only concern

To be frank, Dr. Liu's response on the previous page addresses most (if not all) of these concerns. Your questions are outside my purview, I'm a "patient representative" and not a trained healthcare professional. Your most pressing concerns are best addressed by someone like Dr. Liu, and if you are serious about this step forward in your life (and trust me when I say it's game changing, well it has been, at least for me), then you owe it to yourself to a real-time consultation. Reach out to @PhalloplasticSurgeon_DrLiu for information on how you two can engage directly.

Re: Finally got the Alloderm Graft + PMMA + Lig cut with Dr. Liu
1 year 9 months ago #1308719103I ended up having an additional 17ccs put in. We went for 20 but it maxed out and he couldn't put anymore in.
So in total, I now have 71ccs of PMMA on top of one layer of alloderm
Original EG was 5.5"
- Alloderm graft (1 yr ago, if not slightly longer)
- 14ccs PMMA
(3 month gap)
- 20ccs PMMA
(3 month gap)
- 20 ccsPMMA
(Has almost been 3 months)
- 17ccs PMMA
TOTAL: 71ccs PMMA
My EG before this latest injection of 17ccs was roughly 6.8". I'm hoping to break 7". That's been my goal

Re: Finally got the Alloderm Graft + PMMA + Lig cut with Dr. Liu
1 year 6 months ago #130872021622ccs total:
15ccs were 30%
7ccs were 10%
I pumped at 5-7 pressure for 6 mins twice a day, morning and night, for a .month and a half leading up to the appointment to stretch the skin. The Dr said she was able to put a lot in even though there was some scar tissue from my previous injections.
I hope to get minimum 1/2" increase in Girth. This will be the last time. The only future appts I could possibly have would be purely cosmetic touch-ups down the line.
It's def been a journey. But I think close to 7.5-8" is a good place to call it lol

Re: Finally got the Alloderm Graft + PMMA + Lig cut with Dr. Liu
1 year 6 months ago #1308720218My last few appointments in the Bay Area getting 20ccs with 20% Bellafill PMMA compared to my appointment today with AD using LinneaSafe with 15ccs 30% and 7ccs 10% PMMA
My Bay area procedure got me 4ccs of PMMA
AD got me 5.2ccs of PMMA
That's ~30% more PMMA!
So for less cost I got a third more.
Amazing, love it
