Planning on the lower volume, multiple session approach as im planning for 8 cc of Ellanse this time. Reading more about how Ellanse is lasting significantly longer than its label claim made me think about PMMA and possibly switching. Any opinions at this point favoring one or the other. Cost and travel are not a concern at all. Mainly focused on aesthetics and good gains. Not trying to gain 2 inches in Girth would be very pleased with 1-1.25 after 2-3 sessions. How many years of use would be the minimum before you'd start questioning the ROI? I think if I paid 10k and it only lasted 5 years I'd be disappointed. But I'm not you. For me, personally, I'm sitting on a once-in-a-lifetime little nest egg, I don't want to have to leave "touch up" portions of it tied up. I want to allocate and be done. Since there's no "starts to subside after 20 years" filler out there, for me, I'll be going the permanent route. From what I'm reading the results are essentially the same, albeit with different volumes required to get the same result - collagen is collagen is collagen (in this context), be it PCL derived or PMMA - with only the duration being a variable. I'll take permanent, and in case whoever I wife up can't handle it post menopause, I'll put shoe horns on the bridal registry in advance. That's my out-loud thinking at least. If there was a “perfect” option out there I would gladly pay a few thousand a year for maintenance. I will probably stick with my original choice of Ellanse and take the slower layering route. I talked to Dr. M and she said the lower volumes, more sessions was a better route to get more aesthetic results. For me it boiled down to long term. Avanti has done PMMA in thousands and thousands of men over many years with relatively minor issues. Ellanse is newer, and clearly safe and funtions the same. But my thought process was, what's it lime when the spheres dissolve/collapse. Does the collagen matrix slowly get absorbed in an uneven manner? What's the whole experience like? Will I then be trying to do patch work fixes to keep it decent looking? If they're just realizing now how much longer it lasts than anticipated, that also shows they really don't know what the end of its life span actually looks like in higher volume applications, such as this. So I took the long established route. And since the initial PMMA bulk up, yes I have had HA added. That was worth the experiment to me. I have zero regrets about the PMMA.
